Friends of Children of Brevard is a nonprofit organization that focuses on raising funds and awareness to serve the unmet needs of abused, abandoned, and/or neglected children right here in Brevard County! Brevard County has over 1,000 children who are involved in child welfare cases. There are currently 1,000 children in our county who need a superhero… will you be their Superhero?
Whether you are a competitive runner, a casual walker, or just love the idea of supporting a wonderful cause, participating in the Friends of Children Superhero Run allows you to show your support for abused and neglected children in Brevard County. The 4th Annual Super Hero Run 5k and 1 mile Fun Run will be held on February 6th at The Avenues in Viera. The run offers complimentary food and drinks for participants, a fun mascot race, a fun Zumba warm-up party before the race begins, awards for Top 3 Teams, 56 medals awarded in 18 categories, and most importantly, lots of Superhero-themed fun for a fantastic cause!
Friends has been helping children, who need it the most, achieve normalcy since 1985 by providing funds to purchase backpacks, attend , clothes, toys, and attend summer camp, and relies on donations and fundraisers to make this happen. Now is your chance to give back to the community… help support these children and have fun being a Superhero too! We are partnered with Running Zone and registration can be done online by using the link below. Register before January 21st, as the entry price increases after this date! http://www.runningzone.com/events/super-hero-5k-and-1-miler/
